Anger Consequences

“You will not be punished for your anger, you will be punished by your anger.” (Hindu Prince Gautama Siddharta, the founder of Buddhism, 563-483 B.C.)

You get mad at someone and it can make you
mighty uncomfortable especially if it’s
someone you love or have responsibility for,
but it’s not that  the universe…or even the
recipient of your anger punishing you,
but the anger itself, disrupting your stamina,
evidence that when you hold a hostage with resentment, anger,
indignation or pique, you as
prison guard have no greater freedom than your
purported captive, and often less. You’re not punished for your anger
but by it until the liberating effect of an Eighth Step
or at least a Sixth.
