Are you whole? Are you defective?
You probably know the expected answers,
but do you believe them?
Why do we choose to reject them?
Even if we truly desire to affirm our value,
how do we reach the point
of truly accepting these facts?
There is a device in Recovery that works here.
You get there by acting as though they’re true.
Give it a go. Say aloud,
“I don’t need another person,
place or thing to make me whole.
God already did that. My job is to know it.”
If I cannot freely know it, I can say it,
chant it aloud or silently, and
make anyone who hears you
believe you mean it!
