Where Are YOU?

It is a sure sign we’re moving on when we say, “Here is what I think,” rather than “This is what they think”; “Here is what I feel,” rather than “This is what they feel.” Reality includes many things that are cruelly unfair, but freedom roots in reality and nowhere else. ~ Larsen, Earnie. Days of Healing, Days of Joy: Daily Meditations for Adult Children (Hazelden Meditations) . Hazelden Publishing. Kindle Edition.

Freedom roots in reality and nowhere else.
Do you look everywhere else, needing to copy
or at least to get ideas as to where you should be?
Do you need to know what the majority believes
or at least the person you’re speaking to
or perhaps someone you want yo impress,
or can you go straight to, “This is where I stand”?
Do you think or speak constantly of someone else
in your life now or who used to be. Do you
let the past control the present?
Are you willing to change what you can change
and seek healing and forward movement?
Maybe you cannot say (and mean)
“It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.”*
But can you say, “I  am here
and I can move through this
with the Power to which I have surrendered.”?
