Give a Dime

If you only have a dime, you contribute that dime, and then you give more to cover those who don’t even have a dime. ~ Jhe T’s first sponsor

Every OA group ought to be fully self-supporting,
declining outside contributions.
If we can’t identify another tradition
we know the Seventh. And it’s good.
We may not be sure about not taking money
from anyone who wants to give,
but we know we’re the ones who will donate.

But I’m broke. Sorry, I can’t help,
can’t give that suggested donation,
don’t have three dollars to my name.
Somebody else can until I’m on my feet.

It makes sense. But it doesn’t make cents
and doesn’t grow recovery. Give.
Give a widow’s mite, but give.
Have a stake in the game. Be OA.
Give as if your life depends on it…
because it does.
