It’s not so hard,
coming to believe
a power greater than I
can restore me to sanity.
Evidence exists in people
those around me who have changed,
those I watch transform
before my eyes.
It’s not necessary
to buy a theology
fully formed,
take the ancient wisdom
incorporate it into mine,
walk off an evangelist.
I can just say “more likely then not”
and “I can act like that.”
And that’s enough.
That’s all the proof I need
and that which comes
with my changed life
is enhancement,
so to say…
icing on the cake.
