If I were running things,
I’d have a destination,
a plan, an idea of the trip
maybe vague, but at least a clue.
Planning my life, I’d set out goals,
know what would happen,
have an idea how soon.
But I’ve given up control,
surrendered the wheel.
I’m just along for the trip,
waiting for guidance
from the one with the plan
that I cannot see.
