Do the Things You Think You Cannot Do

“You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, ‘I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along.’ You must do the thing you think you cannot do.’” ~ Eleanor Roosevelt

Tough Day. The service person
called in to repair the refrigerator
suggested it could not be fixed.
She changed it enough, though,
that the occasional issue became constant, though.
Three times during the night we got up
to use the ploys that once had worked.
But morning’s light required getting
the device to cool the food.
All over town we looked for a replacement
today!!! Or at least tomorrow.
We despaired by late afternoon
and the replacement will come tomorrow,
and ruined food will go to waste…
which is better than waist when overeating
is a temptation to “cure” all ills!!
With Eleanor we proclaim
“You gain strength, courage and confidence
by every experience
in which you really stop
to look fear in the face.
You are able to say to yourself,
‘I have lived through this horror.
I can take the next thing that comes along.’
You must do the thing you think you cannot do.’”
