We believed ourselves
to be effective, efficient,
in the right virtually always
but paired with the first step,
admitting we were powerless
over food…and lots more,
we came to believe
that a Power greater than ourselves
could restore us to sanity.
Most of us struggled for a while
but the others in the Rooms
seemed so much more at ease
and declared, “I can’t,
God can…I think I’ll let Him.
Sooner hopefully,
but later if needed,
we realized we need not
continue to manage the world,
that God could and would.
And we found our lives
to be happy beyond all past imaginations!
And sanity, whether we’d had it ever,
suddenly was ours
beyond our wildest dreams!!
