Admitting our faults and the places we have erred requires humility and vulnerability. We can “seek the LORD while he may be found.” Yet as the writer says, it is only when we are willing to be mindful of God’s mercy, justice, and steadfast love that we can we be emboldened to seek God again and again. This type of praxis is what a new and vibrant relationship with God is all about. ~ Room, The Upper. The Upper Room Disciplines 2022: A Book of Daily Devotions (p. 134). Upper Room Books. Kindle Edition.
Humility and Vulnerability,
not our favorite pair of words
as we turn our lives and our wills
over to God as we understand God!
Admitting our faults and the ways
in which we have erred
may cause us to balk
even when when we are willing
to be mindful of God’s mercy,
His justice, and HIs steadfast love.
But when we do, we can we be emboldened
to seek God again and again.
This type of praxis (practice, as distinguished from theory ,
the gap between theory and praxis, text and world.
This is what the new and vibrant relationship
we seek with with God during these days
before Easter Sunday.
