Instead of praying for things…
for wealth, for the fanciest
possessions, for that trendier car,
the best bauble ever!
No, let’s forsake material things
to trust Almighty God!
God doesn’t waver
but He Is Patience!
He waits for us to accept new birth,
to welcome those wonders He wants to give,
to accept the blessings he longs for us to have!
Wouldn’t these days of preparation
be a perfect time to accept God’s largess?
God, I offer myself to Thee—
to build with me and to do with me
as Thou wilt. Relieve me
of the bondage of self,
that I may better do Thy will.
Take away my difficulties,
that victory over them
may bear witness to those I would help
of Thy Power, Thy Love, and Thy Way of life.
May I do Thy will always!
