Who Do You Choose to Be?

We certainly have all crossed paths with people who seem to live in a constant state of kindness. They have nothing we don’t have, except maybe a little willingness to show up in a more loving way. ~ Casey, Karen. Each Day a Renewed Beginning (p. 163). Mango Media. Kindle Edition.

Who do you know
who lives in
a constant state of kindness?
I like to think I do but
husband would tell you
I growl at the dogs.
And I do.
Benji doesn’t understand
when I put my shoes on the dresser
he’s not invited to climb up to get them down,
taking them under the bed to chew!
Husband would say I growl at him, too,
and I do.
It’s not who I want to be.
I want to be someone
who lives in a constant state of kindness.
God, make me so I can be
willing to show up in a more loving way
every day, throughout the day!
