We can name dozens of attitudes…
angst, anxiety, concern, despair, dismay,
doubt, dread, horror, panic, suspicion, worry…
as well as acknowledgment, admission, approval,
compliance, consent, cooperation, recognition…
ad infinitum. But it’s easy to break them down,
to list attitudes that hurt and those that heal.
If we answer each of the less comfortable acts,
those that sting or cause irritation, with only love
it changes the equation all around and guides each side
toward the peace and wellbeing each of us desires.
