Amen!

To anything you are going through, from credit card debt to family drama, say “Amen.” If you are saying “Amen,” you are praying. If you are praying, that means you are fixed on God for your peace while you await his direction. ~ Lawton, Sabrina Universal. Each Day a Gift: A Gratitude Devotional for Women: 90 Devotions to Make a Habit of Praise and Thanks (p. 6). Althea Press. Kindle Edition.

Years ago, I would walk through a building
or a parking lot, and I was likely to say,
“Okay, God.” Just that, nothing more.
It could be embarrassing when I was not really alone.
Now I’m much more likely to cross myself,
not being a practice associated with
the only denomination with which
I’ve been part of. I can see saying, “Amen”
in the same situations. It means,
“Down here, God, I need you!”
How about you?
Do you choose to be fixed on God for your peace
while you await his direction?
