The Present Is a Gift

Because most worry focuses on the future, if we can learn to stay in the present, living one day or one moment at a time, we take positive steps toward warding off the effects of fear. ~ Family Groups, Al-Anon. Courage to Change—One Day at a Time in Al‑Anon II. Al-Anon Family Groups. Kindle Edition.

There’s a reason we live one day at a time,
in the now and not wallowing in guilt from the past
or dreading the future. Only by living today
can we choose love and make miracles happen.
Otherwise we choose fear
and wallow in the life
created by the ego,
abiding in negativity,
a stranger to love.
The present in the Presence
is the life to which God calls us.
