I figure we’re all beloved of the Almighty
but things haven’t changed so in the
seven centuries since the comment.
Those would certainly rank high
in my scheme of socially desirables…
the rich who have
the humility of the poor,
and the poor who have
the magnanimity of the rich.
Since some would count me rich
and others dub me poor,
I’ll opt to seek the humility
of the godly poor
with magnanimity
looking past circumstances
to the heart.

an instrument of peace and love.
