Worry

Worry seems to be knitting expectations. ~ Maureen

Knit one, purl one, knit one purl one, repeat…
Knit a row, purl a row, repeat ad infinitum.
Hours…or days…later you see what’s emerging,
hopefully resembling the picture on the pattern.

The knitting process echoes obsessive worry
in its repeating, repeating,
reliving, reliving, imagining a result…
most often the result you loath,
yet you continue creating out of wholecloth
what you least wanted the result to be.

Save your knitting for yarn.
Stop knitting expectations
by giving up worry, choosing instead
to leave the planning, the creating,
to your Higher Power saying,
“Not my will but Yours be done!”
