We venture on a strange new path
having learned we are incapable
of navigating, our earlier efforts
all having ended in abject failure.
We are no longer in charge
but trusting a Higher Power
is unfamiliar, the direction often fuzzy,
the communication unclear.
But we know the feeling
of finding ourselves lost,
at a dangerous turn.
We can recognize an up-oh!
Then we know to try a new path.
If we learn to take direction
from our Higher Power
by turning around then
that mistake is a guidepost
and has educated us,
sensitized us to the guidance we seek.
