Why would being praised test a person?
It’s a common problem with Recovery people…
or was, before the “recovering.”
We believed in a society ranked by elevation.
Is my pedestal higher than yours?
Who’s step on the ladder ranks better?
In that kind of world, where elevation
needs to outclass others makes praise received
a pearl of exceptional value.
We Recovery people are living auspicious lives,
blessed not to be tested by praise
but to recognize our equality in value.
