Thoughts as Prayer

Certain thoughts are prayers. There are moments when, whatever be the attitude of the body, the soul is on its knees. ~ Victor Hugo

One dictionary of prayer is, “an earnest hope or wish.”
A man named Dutch Sheets says prayer
“It is a deposit slip – a way of depositing
God’s character into our bankrupt souls.”
Fredrik Wisloff says, “You may pray for an hour
and still not pray. You may meet God for a moment
and then be in touch with Him all day.”
John Bunyan said, “In prayer it is better
to have a heart without words
than words without a heart.”
Hannah More says, “prayer is not
the definition of helplessness, but the feeling of it.”
Elijah learned God was not in the earthquake
nor the fire but in a still small voice.
