What to Overlook

I will overlook the silent treatment,
the dishes in the sink,
the clock allowed to wind down,
the need to wash clothes,
the compilation of Honey-dos
saved up, my rightful obligation
for daring to take time for me, for service.
I will not overlook the good karma
amassed over the last few days,
the new levels I’ve reached
in understanding myself,
the new friends I’ve made,
the dear people I’ve seen
with whom I’ve shared,
what I’ve learned and come to see.
I will not fall into the pit
from which I’ve climbed,
just pause and determine
what I can do for those
who remain there.
