Patience and Diligence

Patience and diligence, like faith, remove mountains.~ William Penn

How do you decide to have faith?
Is it not a gift? How do you ask for it?
Well, that’s not really the question,
is it? How do you decide to receive it…
maybe that’s the issue. But is Penn right?
Do patience and diligence do the same thing?
Patience, ability to accept and tolerate delay,
trouble, suffering without becoming upset…
Tolerance…again, accept and endure.
Does setting aside time for meditation,
for communication, when it seems to lie stagnant
equate to patience and diligence? Do the words imply
any possible movement toward faith other than the demand,
God, give me faith and I want it right now!?
Maybe patience and diligence don’t just act like faith
but define it…or at least provide a map?
