grows, diverse, random, repetitious,
minutia and gargantuan…
Why is it important to list
what we’re thankful for?
Because we race through life
seeing only the kinks in the armor,
the potholes, the sinkholes.
Unless we look we fail to see
a hummingbird, the sky after rain,
a child’s small smile, a wrinkled hand…
we fail to see what’s worth looking at.
