For Which I’m Thankful

For life and love, sanity and sobriety.
For husband, sons, their wives,
my grandchildren.
For extended family, homegrown
and acquired.
For a family of choice in fellowship,
recovering with strength from each other.
Enough food to eat and no need to eat too much.
A house, car, the material comforts.
A God who love me, a life worth living,
people who care, accomplishments
to make life better for others,
an understanding of how people fit together,
how resentment of others reflects my fears,
the ability to be of service to God and others…
for this I’m thankful and much, much more.
