Grounded

Bed was welcome, sleep instantaneous,
warnings the air mattress might leak irrelevant.
Offers to clear my things from the surface
dismissed with “I sleep with electronics
covering the bed.” Caution they’d be on top
intrigued. Who would anticipate that/?

Refreshed, I woke wrapped in mattress,
bedding, computer nudging me to write.
The morning wrapped its arms around,
welcoming me to life, to love, to possibility.
