Freedom

All are created equal.
I’m not less than or more than,
I’m equal. That means I’m not alone,
not one of a kind, isolated, lonely,
a freak. I’m equal, and so are you
and you and you and you, all united,
all with rights, rights impossible
to lose, that can’t be forfeited in divorce,
can’t be squandered with drugs,
can’t be drowned with booze
or stuffed down with sweets
or chips. No. Instead,
it’s self-evident, obvious —
I’ve got the right to life!
I have the right to be free, to be liberated.
I have the right to pursue Happiness!
And I know the way to find
this impossible dream.
I know the path to freedom
for me!
